babysitting

Usually even commercials with babies make me flinch, but my former foster son is the one baby who is an exception. He was mine for a while, after all! I’m babysitting him overnight so that his parents can be free on New Year’s Eve. He’s got curly hair now and seems more vocal. Still not sitting up on his own, he seems to fall forward flat on his face every time we try.

What would I have been doing if not babysitting my Moosie? I would be sleeping until 3pm, crying, and trying to drink myself back to sleep, of course. He’s given me a reason to be awake today.

He’s fast asleep right now, and then we will play, have jar food for dinner, take a bath, and play more, have a bottle, and bed at 9pm (for him). I try not to think about doing all of this with Avalon, but because he’s my Moose, and no one else, it’s easier to do.
