misery’s company

I spent the afternoon with a great family friend, who unfortunately has walked this path before me. It is a great comfort and also a great tragedy that two mothers are able to sit side by side and share the memory boxes or books of their lost daughters. She went on to have living twins and a total of 3 living children, and I hope I am also fortunate enough to have living children, while keeping my daughter in my heart.

Rest in peace Celeste, 1986, and Avalon, 2012. No two girls were wanted as much as you both were.

  1. While I hate that anyone else has ever felt that pain, it does help me so much to know that other people have survived. Definitely helps me through those really sad days, to know that I’m not alone.
