Facebook is for happy people

…and I am not a happy person.

I am having a party tonight, it’s a big ‘ole pity party, and facebook is making it even more fun. Everyone on fb has someone they love to mush on for V-day. (Why is this stupid holiday always so brutal? You’d think it wouldn’t matter after losing my daughter… but like I’ve said before, every tiny hurt seems to hurt so much more on top of losing her. It’s like another pebble placed on a two ton load that I have to carry around.) Everyone else has a new baby, or at the very least a happy, healthy, growing daughter.

And I just can’t take it.

I’m home alone tonight, extremely lonely, and about to burst into tears. Facebook is the straw that broke the camel’s back.

SO for two weeks… goodbye facebook! I must demonstrate to myself an iota of self-control and remove myself from the madness of this particular social medium. Let’s see if I can make it a day!

  1. Stepping back from FB is not a bad idea. I’ve hidden quite a few people – pregnant friends, friends with newborns. I took a freak over the Christmas holidays & it was the best thing I could have done. I couldn’t have handled happy family & baby pictures. Give your heart a break.
