“just know you’re not alone”

This song is playing in my patient’s room, and it makes me smile every time I hear it. When I got Moose, the London olympic games were going. I’m a HUGE gymnastics fan, and this song, “Home” by Phillip Phillips (is this name a joke?) played repeatedly in promos. I immediately began singing it to Moose, my sweaty fragile little baby, and I think it applies nicely to any foster children:

Hold on, to me as we go
As we roll down this unfamiliar road
And although this wave is stringing us along
Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home

Settle down, it’ll all be clear
Don’t pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found

Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home
