(POAS = peeing on a stick)
It has recently struck me that the OPK (ovulation predictor) sticks that announce your LH surges with happy faces are remarkably obnoxious. Whilst in the throes of full-on TTC-ing, no one feels like smiling. You’re just trying to get another month down, roll the dice, hope you get lucky. Most of us using the sticks are on the losing end of the gamble most of the time, especially infertiles! I can’t imagine how that little smiling face must make them feel!
Instead of a smiley face, how about a check mark? It at least makes us feel like something has been accomplished!

Totally agree…check marks mean accomplishment…we’re women, to check something off a list is our daily goal!? Who thought of a flipping’ smiley face!? Probably some guy who finds it hilarious to pee on a stick, but never really thought about the “future of my life depends on it” kind of doom. The smiley face should get fired. Immediately.
My opk were of the 2 line variety and I was always amused at how I tried to convince myself to be excited about it despite the fact it was usually the only 2 lines I would see that month. Like my quota was filled or something.
Yup. Smiley faces mean nothing to me, I have blocked tubes. lol
