Yesterday was the first time I heard Jo Jo laugh, an outloud full on laugh. Today was another first: first time wearing a bathing suit, and first dip in the lake! If she stays, Jo Jo will be the 4th generation of lake women. It is a priority to me that any children I have not only learn to swim, but learn to love and appreciate the natural world through living on the water.
Jo Jo did great! She kicked, got excited by the waves, and even gave the camera some smiles. She’s a natural! I hope she’s here to be my lake girl, lake teenager, and lake woman #4.
There is some sadness knowing I will never share this important moment with Avalon. But because I loved her, I now have an equally precious little daughter to share the lake with. I am thankful for that.
Adorable!
Lake women rock!
precious rolls of baby fat and darling toes! wonderful that you could share this with Jo Jo, so sorry Avalon couldn’t be there to take a more active part in being a lake girl, but I hope you both felt her, just the same.
