I am being very materialistic in this post, consider yourself warned.
1) Convertible Crib
I have a mini-collapsible crib set up in my room, but I need something a little bit more sturdy and versatile, so here is what I’d like for $150:
2: Book shelf/storage unit
I like being able to choose between drawer storage vs. book storage. $28 second-hand:
3. Crib Bedding
Since the child already has monkey decals on her wall, and seems to find them fascinating, why not stick with the theme (and therefore not have to change the room border or the decorative wild animal wall hangings)? $59:
4. A pale yellow rug.
And area rugs are really not cheap.
5. A simple lamp for the nightstand
Something like this, $10:
I love those cubby things!!
I have a dark brown one from ikea which currently serves as a bookcase.
If I ever conceive, I will definitely make it part of the nursery.
I think convertible cribs are very cool, though I don’t know first hand of their effectiveness.
I don’t think that was at all materialistic! more like reasonable.. but I’m the same way… imagining furnishing my kids’ rooms in a reasonable, standard manner seems like materialistic luxury, even with good second-hand deals!
That’s Monkey’s crib! 🙂 And I say that “convertible” is the word when it comes to foster care. It’s TOTALLY worth the investment!
