isolated: follow-up

This baby runs me ragged! I love her more than anything else in the world, but jeeeez. She has to be going non-stop or she gets mighty unhappy, especially in the afternoon and evening.

Stupidly, I missed Family Fun Night at my foster care agency on Thursday. She would’ve loved that! She likes to be around other kids, and anywhere where there’s lots of action. We ended up going to a large local park (by local, I mean about a 25 min drive each way) two days in a row, just to people watch. We ran errands, went shopping, stopped by the cemetery, walked around the lake, went swimming in the lake, and took long baths. And she was still ready for more! I’m definitely going to have to be proactive about activities for this busy girl.

I have started my own Meet Up for local moms with babies with no response so far. I’ve reached out to my regional SMC’ers. I have looked at the craigslist “friend” ads (the grammar, the grammar *shudder*). I went to the toy store and asked them, and they referred me to a church group. Nope, not gonna happen.

I’ve been scouring websites for any family fun or baby friendly activities. Unfortunately, the ones I’ve found are all 1 hour away. Why do I live out in the middle of nowhere again? A place without baby music classes? And baby swimming lessons? And free baby playgroups every day at the library?
