Judge ruled for no change in permanency goal.
Three more months of just sitting around, three more months of nothing happening whatsoever for this child. Maybe it doesn’t seem like that long in the grand scheme of things, but when you are 6 months old? That’s a third of your life.
Ugh, I’m sorry! What’s the time frame in Michigan for determining that the birth parents for sure aren’t going to be involved? Pardon my lack of lingo.
This is frustrating. Sorry nothing got done in court.
If it’s ok to ask (& you may have said some time), what is the current permanency goal? And why does it all take so long? Is there a backlog of cases?
The permanency goal is always reunification (with the bio parent or parents) until changed. It takes so long because… shoot, I don’t know. They keep giving the bio family more time to get it together. Or because of technicalities that delay court days by months.
Thank you.
Are JoJo’s bio parents interested in reunification? Just asking because I’ve previously read about Moose, and it just seems like his bio mom was working hard and wanted that. Of course I realise that you don’t/can’t post all the details on your blog, but to an outsider it just looks like the 2 situations are very different.
I guess here the system is different yet again.
