I know, what?! If you do foster care, or are somehow involved in family court in any way, you might fall over in shock when I tell you that Jo Jo’s GAL called me to ask how she’s doing!!! I was in a store, and I needed a chair because I nearly sat down on the floor. He also wanted me to know that he will be recommending a goal change to adoption at court next week, and wanted to make sure I understood the process and the timeline. Which I do.
We had our home visit for the month, and the caseworker is feeling very optimistic that we will get a goal change at court. I know anything can happen, and in foster care world an 8-month-old case is still completely young, but literally nothing has happened that we can see that would dissuade the judge from ruling otherwise.
But who knows? She has overbooked her courtroom again, so here’s to hoping she even gets to us.
