The Big 1st Birthday
The big first birthday is coming up, and I have found a great dress for her to wear in her pictures. I’m going to have her wear jean overalls for her second “style”. I am just taking her to Penny’s this time for basic portraits. I’m hoping to hire or find a photographer for action shots at the actual adoption. For a birthday party, I’m going with a pastel rainbow theme. I’m going to make the cake myself, and order pizza for our small group of guests. It’s going to be pretty simple: cake and presents. I’m also going to get a cheap, small baby pool and plastic balls for a little ball pit.
Adoption
For the adoption, I want to go bigger. I’ve started designing “announcements”, and want to send them out to everyone. For those who are in the area, it will serve as an invitation. I want to have a big party, hopefully in a community center somewhere close to where most people live (far from me). I plan to have it catered, have a big cake, and… I don’t know what else! Any adoption party ideas??? I want to have it the Saturday after the actual adoption.
On actual adoption day, I just want to go out to dinner with local family and friends to celebrate.
I got the adoption paperwork in the mail, filled it out right away of course. Still waiting to hear from the adoption worker.
Mother of All Things 
Maybe at the adoption party have some kind of keepsake version of an adoption certificate you sign in front of everyone and put JoJo’s handprint on? Kind of like the marriage certificate you sign at a wedding, no official, just for show. It would be cute to frame!
