Jo Jo and I were making our way through a head cold when I awoke with abdominal cramping, diarrhea, and the full-out puking. She hasn’t puked, but her poo has been foul and constant, and her little butt is fire truck red despite my ointments. I had to call in to work at 1am, because I didn’t make it to the bathroom in time… no one likes a nurse dribbling poo! In the evening my poor little girl was so miserable that she clung to me so hard her muscles shook, she just wanted to stay on me. My heart melted… you know you’re a real and true mom when your kid is sick and only you can make it better. Afterall, a few hours before I had been the one calling out for MY mom.
Today we are doing a bit better. I’ve kept food down, and baby seems her normal, cheerful self.
BUT, I got a call from my licenser because the strict state inspector had emailed the supervisor that I was out of compliance with the uncovered outlet and the unalarmed door. Once more, the door is in a covered porch that is blocked by a pile of unused flooring, separated by the door to the house which is not only closed and locked, but also baby gated for when it happens to be open! But ok, I will put an alarm on the unused, unreachable door.
Also, the inspector couldn’t even find an outlet that wasn’t hidden by heavy furniture or out of reach, until she found that one. She did not check my bathroom at all to see if there were safety latches on the cabinets, nor did she require safety covers on the doorknobs.
But I digress. I am putting up the alarm and latch cover tonight. Can’t wait for adoption finalization… and I will be done with the nonsense!
