Wanting to mark the occasion of our hopefully soon-to-be adoption finalization, I have realized that I seriously need some more money not only for summer taxes, but for the “stuff” I want to buy to memorialize the event. Remember the ring my parents bought me after I lost Avalon?
Well, I want to buy a matching one for Jo Jo, with her name and birth date. Ideally, it would slide in below or on top of Avalon’s ring, but I’m not sure if it will work.
I also want to buy her a locket, with our photos inside, and an inscription of the adoption date.
And finally, a chest (trunk, if you will) with her name on it, in which to keep the locket (until she’s old enough to wear it responsibly), her baby outfits, baby book, etc and so on. So I’m looking for one on etsy that is lovely and somewhat affordable. I would like to present this to her at the adoption, along with the quilt my grandmother had made for her (made with the quilt top that her own grandmother made for her!).
As far as what to do at the actual adoption ceremony itself… I have no clue. Any ideas out there?
