a playroom!

My spoiled child. My mother had a sort of bedroom out on my porch (which is actually heated and like another room in the house now) but she has had to stay with my grandparents at night now, due to their declining function, and so we took one corner and made it her “office” and storage space, and the rest we turned into M’s playroom! It was a total mess in there, especially once I started sorting through everything.

Before. (A big FAT mess.)

But after lots of scrubbing and organizing, and digging out children’s items from the garage… voila!

M’s bedroom, which was getting extremely crowded by toys, is now much nicer. I moved the tool bench, toy bins, and ride on toys into the play room. The ‘Cars’ table and chairs, and drawers, I had in storage. Thank goodness my little girl loves boy stuff! She won’t mind at all. I have a lock on the top drawer in which I can keep art supplies, until she’s old enough to treat them nicely, or at least stop eating them.

A much less cluttered and neat bedroom.
Lots of books, lots of owls, and a ball in every corner

The biggest news though is… a coworker is giving me a Brio train table with all the trains! It’s worth several hundreds of dollars. Total luck there. So that is going to go in the center of the room.

What kid wouldn't want this in their playroom???

Oh god, then there’s the kitchen set. We are supposedly getting one for free from someone… that can go in the kitchen, as far as I’m concerned, to keep her out of my hair while we’re cooking!
