For all my talking smack about the 3-day potty training method, I guess it actually did work in that it got us off to a strong start. As I mentioned, over vacation M started really being able to release her bladder on command, and since returning home she has been able to do it at school, ask to use the potty in the bathtub and hold it in time to get out and get to the toilet, and able to have bowel movements more frequently in the toilet. This is despite being in pull-ups most of the time (when she’s not sitting on the toilet).
So it wasn’t easy, but considering that tomorrow I’ll have a 2-year-old who is 90% potty trained during the day, I’d say the hard work definitely paid off! (And I got lucky.)
Sounds like your timing was great! You will appreciate not changing a 3 year old’s poopy diaper…
So awesome! Right now i’m feeling so excited about Carter being out of diapers that I want to potty train Dylan at 8 months. Potty training rocks!
Happy birthday kiddo!
