Yesterday was an incredible day for me, for my country, for humanity, as the US finally joined the growing number of countries on this planet who recognize the dignity and rights of gay and lesbians who wish to have equal rights and protection under the law.
My daughter will now grow up in a country where she has the option and right to marry either a man or a woman. She will never remember living in a time when such a thing was so shameful and misunderstood that it was illegal.
