the whole foods pilgrimage

M will almost definitely want to eat the same snacks as her friends in the morning, so while she was in her class today I made the hour drive to the nearest Whole Foods to see what I could find. I found… everything. Dairy free substitutes for when her friends are eating cheese (I know it’s not as good, but it’s something similar!), bromine-free (organic) bread for when they have bagels, toast, crackers, and graham crackers, coconut milk and coconut yogurt, vegan and organic pizza, and granola bars. And for home I got bromine-free pasta, waffles, pancake mix, corn meal, plus some other stuff I needed.

 Yeah, baby.
Yeah, baby.

Another great thing was the bulk section… they will let me bring my containers back and refill them, so no plastic bags or plastic container waste! I got granola, a trail mix for her to snack on, and organic popcorn to make at home.

The best part is that I only spent about $35 more than I would have at the usual grocery store. And there’s not poison in it… so win, win. I think my Whole Foods pilgrimage will be a monthly thing!

  1. That’s awesome! I’m so glad they’ve upped their game! We went there pre Halloween for dairy free bribes for G to give up her deliciously poisonous loot and found nothing. I may have to try again!
