Adoption worker and the flood

Well we had our first home visit from the adoption worker today. Sounds like there is a lot more to do than I thought. So I’m definitely thinking that we won’t have finalization until summer, but maybe they’ll surprise me.

Jo Jo laid her charm on the worker as she always does, and the worker will be coming again on her first birthday. I just want this to move along, and it’s harder than ever to be patient now that we’re in the home stretch.

As the worker was leaving, she noticed some water on my floor that hadn’t been there previously. Turns out, my entire fridge was leaking water, which turned into a lake in my kitchen. A family friend helped me get the old fridge out, to be replaced tomorrow. We will also be replacing all the floors, counters, and other things, so I’m excited.

But for today, it has sucked trying to keep a very curious and determined toddler out of a flooded kitchen.
